Yes the humble pencil in my opinion is the perfect comparison to what AI represents in the world today. A pencil on its own is just an inanimate wooden object capable of nothing, (except perhaps rolling). AI, too is an inamniate piece of software capable of nothing until… human interaction. It is only with the power of our imagination that these two objects truly come alive. So rather than fearing the inevitable take over from the AI super lords, my aim is pick up that AI pencil and start crafting with it. Just as the pencil is capable of images, text, animation and so much more, so is AI with the combination of creativity.
